Trilogy of the abandoned village

That was a few years ago. I managed to get in one of the villages that were going to disappear from the map of Ukraine. Three people lived there then. The school principal and a retired couple, who refused to leave the village together with their relatives. The only man who visited them regularly was a police district inspector.

It was a big village before.
Several shops were there and the school attended by more than 1,000 children.
Now it is a closed weedy shop and dozens of houses with boarded up windows.

Inspector go around his site, where there are several of these villages, once a week. And he became the only outsider interlocutor for the few residents a long time ago.
